MAIN FUNCTIONS
Regulation of Passenger transport
Passenger transport is a power vested in the Provincial Council with the establishment of provincial councils in 1987 and the Act No.1 of 1994 made provision for the establishment. Our institute is installed under Chief Ministy of Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council and basically consist of passengers, Bus Owners, Drivers, Conductors and Staff of Transport Authority. The head office is situated in Ratnapura and the District office is established in Kegalle.
Increasing Passenger safety
Providing security for passengers traveling in the province, subject to the regulations and conditions of the NTC and provincial statutes and rules of the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council
Provision of quality passenger transport
Improve the service provided to commuters in the bus, conduct drivers and conductors training programs and carry out programs for developing the attitudes of the employees
Employee welfare
The Sabaragamuwa Provincial Road Passenger Transport Authority has introduced various programs for employee welfare and keep and maitaining funds for charity work.
